#supercorp as a tragedy told in… four hands

They’re both facing the viewer, with Kara holding Lena from behind, her left arm slung around Lena’s chest while using the right to cover Lena’s eyes with her hand. Lena’s face is in the light, though most of her face is covered by Kara gently keeping her in the dark; her posture is relaxed, trusting, her jaw slack, her hair down, while Supergirl’s face is partially hidden in shadows, her expression deeply troubled. The hand Supergirl/Kara rests just beneath Lena’s collarbone is only barely stretching the collar of Lena’s sweater, one fingertip dipping beneath. Lena’s right hand lies just over/hovers just above Kara’s right hand, a wish more than a demand. Her left hand however is clutching Supergirl’s forearm, as if frightened she will pull away.

Weitzman briefly took down word-stream after author outcry—only for the same website and app to resurface late February 2025 as booktokapp.com. (Two screenshots, side by side, one showing word-stream.com’s main page on the internet archive, dated December 2024, the other showing booktokapp.com’s main page as it looks today. They’re carbon copies, save for the particular works listed: all of them appear to be freely available as part of the public domain.) the sites are identical, though booktokapp no longer lists the stolen works—at least for now. although the BookTok app doesn't appear to be offering fanfiction at this time, its store page still lists it as one of its major draws. Speechify®’s Terms & Conditions state that, by submitting material to their platform, you assert you own the rights to it. Speechify®'s CEO has ALREADY TAKEN independently published works without the authors' permission. and he's sold them, word for word, on a different platform—as AI-narrated ‘audiobooks'. (A badly drawn emoji with dead eyes and its tongue lolling from its mouth.) in December 2024 Speechify® CEO Cliff Weitzman launched a website & app called word-stream. he used this platform to host thousands of fanworks and independently published books without informing the authors, monetizing them for the benefit of his company. A screenshot of a tumblr message posted by someone with the username @cliffweitzman: [quote]cliffweitzman replied to your text post “Hey everybody, the person behind word stream here: (…) Word Stream is free for anyone to use. There is a paid plan for ppl who want to use high quality text to speech which is priced at the minimum amount we can to cover server/gpu costs to power the text to speech. The next iteration will also include free text to speech but with a lower quality bar. (…) Please email me if we have a peace of work that is yours you don't want up there and I will take it down immediately (…) A future release will also add the ability to tip authors so writers can make money not from selling the works but via tips from grateful readers (…) I apologize for a beta product that got more attention that it had any right to before it was complete (…) Warmly, Cliff”[end quote] Weitzman maintains to this day that he sees nothing wrong with monetizing work authored by others without their permission, as long as we don't personally & explicitly tell him that we don't want him to. remember when it was 2019 and i assumed #supercorp would be a temporary infatuation
five not-so-quick studies of katie mcgrath’s face with minimal shading & simple highlights a quick sketch after an exchange on tumblr between narraboths & jazzfordshire speculating on kara carrying lena home after a fancy gala. lena does at least a decent job at pretending to be asleep as kara bridal-carries her. lena’s purse is dangling from kara’s arm. lena’s arms are slung around kara’s shoulders. lena’s high heels are dangling from lena’s fingers. supergirl kissing Lena Luthor in a dramatic, swooping dip.
