We know that there are differences in outcomes and experiences for children living in care of different ethnicities - but without reporting ethnicity we can't learn more about these differences, or 'what works well for whom' with support we are offering young people.

You might be wondering why reporting ethnicity is important. Without knowing the ethnicity of the children living in care who take part in research it's really hard to know how much our learning applies to all children in care - or just some groups.

It was a privilege to share the voices of care-experienced young people and collaborators and caregivers who have so kindly given their time to take part in our research. Thank you to local authority partners, third sector organisations and of course my academic colleagues. @ukpts.bsky.social
