In 2018 I covered our front wall with multiple layers of turf. Within a few months, the soil had a dense mat of greenery sprinkled with wildflowers. It was not just beautiful. It was also practical, adding several degrees of warmth to the house in the winter and cooling it in the summer.

Our Spanish Walipini workshops are a success. Walipini's are being built all over Chile, and beyond. We'll do a workshop in Japanese next month and one in English a month later. For us, the workshops are 'funshops'. We meet nice people and help them increase the diversity and produce they harvest.

It's spring at Paul and Konomi's Garden and our Jurassic Park vegetation is growing like crazy. In #Aysen, our region of Chilean #patagonia, there are dense rain forests and plants like the Nalcas I introduce here play a special role in our garden and taste nice too! www.youtube.com/watch?v=r8Uc...
What's that gigantic plant growing in our garden?

I built this #walipini in 2018 and it is a major feature of the tours we give at Paul and Konomi's Garden, our home in #Aysen, Chilean #patagonia. In the walipini we grow things all year and plants that would not normally grow in our climate. Jasmine is flowering and the aroma is on the breeze.

There were no plants or trees when we bought our land here in Chilean #patagonia. So we planted a couple of thousand trees, made terraces and dug twenty ponds to create Paul and Konomi's Garden. Frogs arrived within 3 months of finishing the first pond. That was 12 years ago. Listen to them now! #

Spring is a wonderful time to enjoy the flowering trees of Chilean #patagonia. I made this video a few days ago on our deck which overlooks the Palena and Rosselot Rivers that meet at our village of #Lajunta which is situated in northern #Aysen a beautiful region of forests, lakes and glaciers.
