Where is the outrage from our reps? How can they stand by when 10% of our workforce is slashed for no reason? Disgusting.
Alaska has about 1,200 total probationary federal employees, representing about 10% of the federal workforce.

In comments to the #akleg, the steward of Alaska's federal employees union says that's about $88M in wages.

Employees across several agencies including the U.S. Office of Personnel Management, the Department of Education, the Department of Energy and the General Services Administration have all been affected this week, with many being given notice on Thursday.

According to the EEOC, the EPA has a total of ~17,000 employees, so this is about 6% of their total workforce.
