As sun-like #stars swell into red giants, they can engulf nearby worlds. A new study of nearly 500,000 red giants shows these stars have far fewer close-in exoplanets than other stars. In other words: many of those planets may have already been destroyed!

The radiant point for the #Leonid #meteor shower is in the constellation Leo the Lion, for which the shower was named. The meteors tend to come in spurts, so give it some time!

Have you seen the constellation #Tucana the Toucan? It's visible year-round from Earth’s Southern Hemisphere. This constellation is famous for being home to the Small Magellanic Cloud, a fuzzy patch in the sky that’s actually a dwarf galaxy orbiting the Milky Way. 🌌🔭
