What ExxonMobil should be doing is investing in plastic alternative, biodegradable packaging like seaweed, algae, corn starch, sugar cane, etc. I know... they'd say "but they aren't petroleum-based".

Great point. There usually is more forgiveness for those who correct their mistake of believing a lie. The irony is those that double down on the thing that's been proven as a lie should be doubly embarrassed, for they look either ignorant or nefarious.
