Such a commission could look at supermarket power and other ways to boost farm incomes and importantly get land prices down. It could lead incremental policy tweaks to be turned into legislation month on month.

I do believe that government should establish a commission to talk to UK farmers, discuss the inheritance tax and help farmers to diversify their crops, redefine the inheritance tax rules to look after family farms but hammer those investing in land to avoid other taxation.

Its worse than that Chris. Its privileged people sticking two fingers up to people they consider "lefty", "woke" or "tree huggers". We live in dangerous times where problems such as global warming, deforestation, misogyny are ignored by a section of society.

You see, taxing the rich isn't fair. Farmers are under pressure but this tax policy is not the reason and will actually help the strugglers. I would like to see RR slap a 50% tax on land being sold for housing or development.
