When you fight censorship, you're also fighting for things you might not exactly like and it's something you gotta get comfortable with. I promise you, the fetish game you turn your nose up at is NOT YOUR ENEMY. You must think of the bigger picture, you must not fall for the bait.

I’ll be 28 in less than a week, thats really young in the grand scheme of things. I get caught up in trying to Be Something, but I don’t need to be a good artist right now. I just need to make things and fail better.

I don’t think I’m a great artist, or even a good one most of the time. But I do think that every time I ask myself those questions and do my best to act on them, and make something new with those failures in mind, I get a little closer to being one.

Like after every painting, comic, story, any project; i kind of do a personal autopsy of it and ask myself “what was successful here? What wasn’t?” And i try to have that inform what I do next. I have notes in my sketchbook dissecting things I’ve made to understand better how I failed
