I would simply be more specific with my wishes, clearly the 12-year old Harmony didn't know what she was doing but me, an adult in my 30s, would be completely fine every time. No I don't know what hubris is, mashed chickpeas or something??? 🤔

Absolutely yeah - it was only the second of his books that I've read but The Lions of Al-Rassan is one of my all-time favourite books so I had high hopes going in to Sailing to Sarantium and was almost relieved to enjoy it as much as I did!

I just finished reading this last week myself - I love how Kay takes his time to let you get to know his tertiary characters like the cook's assistant or Scortius through an extended POV sequence, and how as a reader I always trust that the narrative will expertly stumble into the key players again
