@maddow.msnbc.com I sincerely appreciate you covering the national resistance demonstrations so well. However, unfortunate as it may be, demonstrations will not be enough. Only a national strike will be strong enough to get those who CAN stop this tragedy to do so. It must happen soon.

Modern life! I am in Istanbul and needed to call Turkish Airlines to change my flight home. Using my US (Verizon) phone I dialed the local number (which starts 0850) and got a Verizon message telling me to dial 911 if I was having an emergency! So begins the saga..

This is probably TMI but I’m in Istanbul getting my entire mouthful of 77 year old teeth replaced with new ones for $12K instead of paying $75K in the USA.
