It wasn't long after we took this shot of cypress trees that we saw an alligator--a few minutes further into our walk we saw the sign warning us about them, and to give them plenty of room. Ah, yes, warning signs. We take them seriously; too bad more people don't....

This is an area recovering from a fire 2 years ago. It's in a brutal climate at a high elevation. I am hopeful the Carolinas can look even better than this sooner. No climate change, my ass......

Aspen leaf shadows during last year's annular eclipse. I've heard of a therapy for youth offenders that puts them in the middle of nowhere for a week. I know some people who could use that--too bad they'd be so busy trying to figure out how to survive that they'd miss appreciating stuff like this.

Big #'s at AOC/Bernie rallies. That's good, but WHAT ARE THE DEMS DOING?! They should be grooming their next pres candidate NOW--which should be a NEW FACE. What did they do for the upcoming spring special elections? More lawsuits/impeachment talk-NOW. Do they finally understand ave. Americans?

Hoping good people can stand as strong as this tree in the months to come. Two things they need to remember: the economy and immigration sank them last November. Look for good people who have a plan for both, and remember that voters' economic standing is often the only thing they are aware of.

Ancient olive tree. Hope the US lasts this long. Some people are hoping mid-terms will bring change, but there may be more urgency. If Trump sees losses coming he may declare martial law (he's putting his allies in the military). This spring's special elections are very important! Research them!

Does this count as skiing in July? In any case, two more things. If you go to church insist your church develop a plan to resist the co-opting and corrupting of your religion by people who want power. And stop feeding billionaires--close your Amazon and FB accounts, don't buy a Tesla....

A flower in winter. Three things: Define your values, call your representatives and encourage them to defend those values, contribute (if you can) to candidates who show signs of being able to topple those who run roughshod over your values. Two more tomorrow!!!
