The Trump administration has lost a staggering amount of cases in the courts. It is the one part of the system that still seems to be holding up reasonably well against the attacks on the rule of law. Minus the supreme court unfortunately.

Isn't it more likely that the court might dismiss the case altogether based on jurisdiction or due process concerns?

I wish that is what happened. But I think mostly the people who swung from red to blue are people who are mad that Trump promised lower prices and didn't deliver.

Board the ship? Arrest the crew. Confiscate the ship and any drones on it.

Should have happened already. But better late than never, I guess.

And they were all correct in their analysis then. Too bad they all turned out to be shameless sycophants. They all despise him, but he's a useful tool for them to get what they want.

Or you can say that it is easy to end a war if you don't care about what comes next. Capitulating to Russia does not lead to peace but to slavery, oppression and genocide. War - no matter how terrible - is still better than that.

I just subscribed. I'm otherwise boycotting American products at the moment, but willing to make exceptions for those who take a clear stand against their fascist government.

There was no real fear of them winning power outright. But there was a fear that they would get large enough that building a stable majority coalition amongst the regular parties would be difficult.

We were all cheering for Canada 🇨🇦 Greetings from Denmark 🇩🇰

Well that is largely bullshit, since US already has full military access to Greenland. It's likely about mining for resources or possibly just that Trump wants the US to look bigger on a map as a vanity project.

The American state is not yet fascist, but it's leadership will be in a few days. And they will put extraordinary pressure on the country's institutions to bend to their will even when it violates laws and the constitution.

Just posturing? You really think Trump is not willing to follow up on his threats? Military invasion may yet be unlikely, but economic sanctions is definitely something he would not hesitate to do. Could be devastating for our economy.
January 19, 2025 at 7:40 AM
You dont think the largest military power in the world (and our supposed ally) threatening our sovereignty is a crisis? I would say the threat of invasion or sanctions is a pretty significant crisis.

He was indeed a remarkable man. I had the pleasure of living in India during his time as PM, and I have nothing but respect and admiration for him.

That's a very long way of saying you were bullshitting about that congressional report. Just admit you made a claim you couldn't back up, then maybe the rest of your arguments can be taken somewhat seriously.

Wow, how quickly he moved the goalpost when you called his bluff and asked for a link 😄

Or in other words, Russia's military is shit, but they have a lot of it.
