To me, the right person isn't gonna care that you work a job you're content with. The right person is gonna care about you for who you are.

...from that alone, that just reads as arbitrary, or cherry picking I guess? Like they've put a standard for a parnter that isn't really a qualifier for if you'd be compatible or not. There's much more to a relationship than a partner's job. Like even if they found someone with the "ideal" job...

...regularly, or had you working overnight whilst they work day shifts, or was something that brought dangers home or something, then maybe I could see people having discussions on the logistics of a relationship around it. But if they just see retail and judge all of what a relationship would be...

In my humble opinion, if folks ghost because of your job, they're not worth worrying about. People are much more than ticked boxes, and if working retail is a deal breaker for them, then they're looking for the wrong things in a person IMHO.
