I do not consent to my original posts or replies being used to train large language models or others forms of AI.
I would have a lot more time for Angela Rayner’s defence of her actions as being for her disabled son, if she had not also championed cuts to disability benefits so vigorously.

The media, including the BBC, are largely responsible for the slide of politics to this sorry state. They have turned politics into light entertainment, platforming not the most intelligent or informed, but those who shout the loudest or make the most controversial, stupid or crass statements.

Entitlement , characteristic, biological; or maybe of course the minor fact that he fried his brains out with hard drugs for decades.

It’s not exactly a mystery.

The BBC had used the same loophole to when paying many of its “talents”, so they are unlikely to say at all. They certainly aren’t going to call it what it is - tax dodging for the wealthy.

They will have to get in line behind the entire UK news media and the BBC. Don’t think an utterly discredited Isreal government are going to top the balance any.

In deep water where light penetration is minimal, do they still follow a 24 hour cycle!? Or does it vary by tide cycle?

It started with fundamentalist Christians promoting creationism as a ‘valid’ viewpoint, regardless of scientific evidence.
Once you start accepting that someone who is utterly ignorant about a subject can have an equally valid viewpoint compared to a subject expert, all hope is lost.

Makes you wonder if there aren’t some very , very senior members of media /press corporations in the files.

And look at the ages - a large % were young adults with good immune systems. In very many cases the “Spanish” flu, to an even greater extent than C-19, triggered an over-response from the immune system and death from cytokine storm.
Being fit and healthy was no protection - quite the opposite.

If the conveyancer comes forward and confirms that it was their error, then absolutely. Have they done so?

One of your neighbours is now wondering where their new cat has gone..

The mark of a great teacher is to be able to explain complex ideas in as simple a way as possible while still transferring the correct knowledge.

The mark of a great developer is to be able to code complex algorithms in as simple a way as possible while still retaining the correct functionality.

Yeah, that’s a ‘mute account’ for posting a video obviously staged for clicks without consideration for the puppy’s wellbeing.

Who knew that America’s growing nostalgia for its golden age included dying of infectious diseases that are now avoidable through vaccination.

Scotland is a country not an English county. As such, it has always had its own legal system, and therefore its own education system etc. This is stipulated in the Act of Union. You seem to have a grievance about Scottish devolution without any understanding of it.
September 4, 2025 at 5:42 AM
In no way does Scotland have the same power as England in terms of power, and the idea that a Scottish vote is worth 10 English votes is just nonsense. We have devolved control of affairs that only affect Scotland, we have no more control of Westminster than a similar sized English county

Funny how they are “pro-life” right up until the kid is born, then they flip to pro-death.

At some point it becomes self-correcting. Society has become over-protective trying to save fools from their own stupidity. All that leads to is more fools.
September 3, 2025 at 7:36 PM
Can you give a verified source for this claim please? Because the only significant report with verifiable references is the MIT report, which had shown 95% of AI projects by businesses have been failures, have not lead to cost savings, and have not lead to staffing reductions through efficiency.

I don’t necessarily disagree, but your comparison to carrying a phone around is not valid.
September 3, 2025 at 7:01 PM
We choose to that. That’s entirely different from being required to use an ID card to access government services or, as the scope inevitably creeps onward, being required to go about our daily business.

At some point this is the sort of stupidity that self-corrects. Unfortunately the dog suffers as well.

I think it’s just meant to indicate that they weren’t all from the southern states, where anti-science christian fundamentalism and irrational education about subjects such as creationism would be expected to promote such harmful conspiracy-theory bunkum.

This is like finding out that Bagpuss was pink. We only had a black and white telly when I was a kid, so the fact that Parsley was green is a bit of a revelation.

It’s a joke, referring to a Groucho Marx witticism “Those are my principles, and if you don't like them... well, I have others.”

It was a barb directed at politicians who claim to have principles , but drop them as soon as those principles look like the might lose them a few votes.
