Thank you for posting the direct comparison between reference and drawing.
I like to see and analyze where you put emphasis and learn for my own drawings. In my opinion you did a great job.
I personally try do work with more contrast because I think it makes drawings more lively.

I see your point. And I agree with you. My thought process was something like - I'd like to draw an image like that - don't have a real reference at hand or finding in time one. So maybe it works to let AI create something I can use as a guide.
But I didn't work well - I learned that lesson.

thank you, I agree, values are important and lighting makes it interesting or dull.
And the reason why I colour often only the background came initially just from my fear of messing the whole drawing up if I try to colour skin "correctly". But I come to like it that way :D
