At the same time the left needs to be careful not to get labeled as pussy hat wearing crazies yelling about women with penises or men playing women's sports. Those ideas are unpopular with the general public.

I actually agree with a lot of this, but draw issue mainly with the second point. The second Point primarily argues for corporatist ownership of the left. Democrats need to move more left. Many of those ideas are popular amongst mainstreamvoters.

Having access to healthcare, education, paid work leave, pay equity Etc are important but the right immediately goes to Men playing women's sports, men using women's bathrooms, and Democrats not knowing what sex a person is.

I feel like the basic tenets of being a leftist are being lumped in with some of the stuff viewed as crazy by the mainstream voter.
