Beautiful weather for one more longer run on the trail. Ran from Edgewater to Oak Street Beach (and back). The temperature was great, but the wind was a bit rough. One of those runs where I can just put in my headphones, get into a cadence, and just enjoy seeing everyone enjoying the nice weather. 😀

Short run today (due to limited time) but got the opportunity to take advantage of the unusually warm weather. Hopefully I can get a longer run in tomorrow while it’s still warm! 😀

Temperature tonight was great, the wind sucked. Ran from Edgewater to Bacinos (Diversey Harbor) & back. It’s actually a nice route. The wind on the way back was brutal. Haha. But no matter how shitty the weather feels, you always feel better after a run. 😊I just hate how dark it’s getting so early.

Although I wanted to skip the run and crash into a nap, I still ran. I remind myself why I run. It’s not always about racing or PRs. It’s a reminder that I’m in control of my life, not my narcolepsy. Running is what keeps me grounded. It’s my support system.

1. I am, but I stay active. Personally running keeps me grounded. But I enjoy playing the guitar & piano, and reading.

2. Luckily no personal interaction with them, but I’ve seen them. 😢

As a side perk, I got this cool mug for finishing top 3 in my age group & took 12th place overall out of 1600 runners. 🍺😀👍. Not going to lie, I’m very happy with how today went.

I did it! I can cross off a sub 3 hour marathon off my bucket list! And I beat Harry Styles’ time which was the real motivator. Haha! 😊👍

I’m officially in Milwaukee & have my bib number for tomorrow’s marathon. Even if I don’t get my goal of sub 3 hours, I’m going to remind myself that running a marathon is an accomplishment in itself & not try to be too stressed about it. Whatever happens will happen & I’m going to accept that. 😀👍

I’ve officially ran over 1500 miles so far this year with one week left before the Milwaukee Marathon. Decided to do a half marathon as part of my taper & as a way to celebrate that today is the Chicago half marathon. Now, I’m going to run light the rest of the week & recovery before the race. 😀👍

Today is World Narcolepsy Day! Living with narcolepsy has been a challenge for me, but I think I’ve finally got to the point where I’m managing it & I’m not taking naps anymore. It’s still not easy & takes being disciplined with my sleep schedule , but I’m no longer exhausted by my own existence. 😊

That’s not mud, that’s 100s of gnats that stuck to my sweaty body. Kind of gross, but when you’re running, you can’t worry about what gets on you. 2 weeks until the Milwaukee Marathon. Took this run at a more conservative pace as part of my tapering. Sub 3 hours is still a my goal for race day.

Bedtime post!! I’m so ready for bed especially after today’s long run. But no matter how tired I was, I didn’t take a nap. I’ve been very good at not taking naps & waking up by 5am. Tomorrow is Monday! Have a good night everyone!
