i was away due to back injury.

Hodge wanted me to art in tandem, so i made these using crayons & cruddy pastels. i find kids art supplies to be difficult to use, flimsy & frustrating. we decided we’ll stick to quality materials. i made a sharpie sketch to shake it off. he went back to building object stories all around the house.

when we first moved here we found a little plant of brown sticks behind the trash cans. i saw a bit of green, so we trimmed it, cleared the area of weeds and leaves, turned it into a garden area. every year the little plant is the first to turn green, bushy and bloom giving us its love.
photograph of a deep pink flower from my garden of a Lamprocapnos spectabilis also known as “Chinese bleeding heart”. it has a tiny drop at the bottom that has yet to bloom, so it resembles a tear or dew drop. its perfection makes it look almost fake. they’re very delicate (also toxic) and when picked wilt quickly. they grow in rows across the branches.
