152. Destiny 2: Ash & Iron

The mini-expansion that essentially broke the community and led to a series of changes that walked back most of everything that Bungie was trying with Edge of Fate's portal update. To say this was a disaster is an understatement. The content itself? It was okay.

151. Family Guy Season 23

An over-reliance on parody episodes made this season a bit of a slog to get through. These have always been my least favorite types of episodes, so seeing so many of them in a single season really left me indifferent to most of it. Hoping next season is an improvement.

150. Rental Family

A beautifully human film about the bonds people forge with one another and all the messiness that comes with it. This is such a lovely little movie with such a spirit to it that is consistently moving without ever feeling melodramatic. It’s cozy and so very moving.

149. Zootopia 2

For better and for worse, Zootopia 2 feels like the start of a franchise. It’s structured in the vein of a classic buddy cop film like 48 Hours and doesn’t strive for the deeper themes like the first one did. That does feel like the right call, but it comes at the cost of ambition.

148. Nuremberg (2025)

Great performances make a melodramatic and at times silly presentation watchable, though the music stings at inappropriate moments did undercut the seriousness of the story. This is pop history at its most reductive, but it is still enjoyable for the most part.

147. Sisu: Road to Revenge

A fantastic follow up to one of the most hilarious action films of the last few years, this one manages to be more over the top and somehow much more emotional. It walks a fine line between live action cartoon and melancholy that shouldn’t work as well as it does.

145. Hazbin Hotel Season 2

Incredible animation, a more focused story, and much more well-rounded characters make this a solid improvement and escalation from season 1. It's clear there's still way more story to tell, and if the show keeps improving like this, it's going to be something to see.

144. Die My Love

While not a fun watch, Jennifer Lawerence gives an absolute powerhouse performance in a film both thematically rich and incredibly interesting. Tackling complicated topics like postpartum depression and mental health crises is a tightrope, but I think this mostly succeeds at it.

It’s taken months of finding parts, taking things to repair shops, and troubleshooting some of the weirdest audio problems ever, but the hifi stereo system is finally finished.

143. The Running Man (2025)

Lacking the unique style found in director Edgar Wright's other films, this is a surprisingly predictable studio action film elevated a touch higher by Glen Powell's charismatic performance and some timely political messaging that lands shockingly well.

142. Christy (2025)

This film will forever be overshadowed by Sweeney's disastrous interview, but as a film, Christy is a solid biopic about an extraordinary, complicated life of a boxer that's bolstered with excellent performances by Sweeney and Foster in the two leading roles.

141. Predator: Badlands

While it can be a little corny at times, everything comes together beautifully with a third act and ending that feel earned and extremely satisfying in their brutality. Badlands is a blast of a movie, delivering exactly what you expect from a movie starring the yautja.

140. Bugonia

Gripping all the way through, while Bugonia lacks the audacity of Poor Things, its rather grim story offers a unique perspective on people that’s full of empathy, even if its main cast of characters don’t deserve it. It’s a very human, very interesting little dark comedy worth seeing.

139. Shelby Oaks

A rock solid feature debut for director Chris Stuckmann utilizing multiple formats to tell an intriguing mystery with a haunting conclusion. Some of the dialogue is a little too unnatural and expository at times, but taken as a whole, this was a really well put together film.

138. Good Fortune (2025)

While its messaging isn’t as sharp as it could be, this is a really cute movie elevated entirely on Keanu Reeves’ performance as Gabriel. The film’s Prince and Pauper plot is as predictable as you think it is, but the humor regarding modern life lands spot on.

137. The Perfect Neighbor (2025)

The amount of rage I felt watching this documentary can't be overstated. This is a terribly effective retelling of events leading up to a terrible tragedy caused by one unhinged individual and laws allowing her to nearly get away with it. Powerful and infuriating.

136. Pets on a Train (2025)

I would be curious to see what the original French version of this is like since it can be rather clever in parts, but the subpar dubbing and absolutely unhinged dialogue written to cobble the plot together from its original version make this rough to watch at times.

135. Batman Beyond: Neo-Year (2022)

I came back around to this after putting it off, and while I loved Neo-Gothic, I really did not like this. The overabundance of two page spreads really grates while trying to read it, and Terry's one sided internal monologue to Bruce never stops being annoying.

134. Marble Hornets: Rosswood

The granddaddy of internet horror videos is back with a self-contained mini-series set in an alternate timeline many years after the ending of the original series. The filmmaking improvements here are great, and as a love letter to the fans, it's basically perfect.

133. After The Hunt (2025)

A muddled mess of a movie that’s almost saved by the fantastic performances, particularly Julia Roberts in the leading role. The film broaches some interesting conversations about our current day political climate, but never commits to having an ultimate thing to say.

132. Black Phone 2

For better and for worse, I don’t think this is the sequel that people are expecting. The character writing in this one is much more emotionally resonant, but the plot is a little too slow moving in parts, especially when compared to the tight and focused plot of the first one.

131. Roofman

A lovely little biopic about one of the strangest crime sprees in American history, both heartfelt and hilarious in equal measure. Tatum and Dunst are phenomenal, turning in performances that are both honest and vulnerable in what is otherwise a totally unbelievable true story.

130. Peacemaker Season 2

A smaller, much more character driven season than the first, Peacemaker Season 2 gets into the heads of its characters and provides a much more emotional story with a very divisive ending. It worked for me more than it didn't, but I understand why some people are mad.

129. TRON Ares

Much like the original film, this is more of a mood than it is a great film. The highlight is obviously the NIN score, which is phenomenal when paired with the stunning visual effects and design. The story and characters, however, are both very flat and not all that interesting.
