I 'acquired' my copy from my Mum (I've told her she can't have it back). I used it when baking with my son (now 21) and more recently with my niece and nephew - it's played an important role in creating memories through the generations.

It was the illustrations that caught my attention, but the story caught my imagination (no spoilers here). It's a blend of the unlikely hero, a supporting cast of oddball characters, a splash of folklore plus a "new age" environmental message. I love it the same way I do Wind in the Willows.
