Hello, this is Hideo Kojima. I have some unfortunate news for you all today. I was looking forward to meeting all my fans at the Taipei Golden Horse Film Festival starting tomorrow. I developed a fever this morning and was diagnosed with influenza A after being tested at the hospital. Although I had been vaccinated and taking precautions, this means I will no longer be able to travel abroad, and I will have to cancel my trip to the Taipei Golden Horse Film Festival awards ceremony on the 22nd. This is a real shame for me, as I had just re-watched "MAD MAX 2" the night before, which I had planned to attend a teach-in on. I'm extremely sorry to everyone in the festival division who worked so hard with such respect to arrange everything, including screening five of my all-time favorite films in theaters during this festival, as well as to all the fans who were looking forward to it. Although it wasn't possible this time, I'll definitely arrange a time in the near future to participate and do what I wasn't able to do this time. Hideo Kojima
