Reddit and twitter are good places as well as here. You can always comment on someone’s post asking if you can ask some questions and go from there.

You could trying researching specific games and creators and come up with questions that you have, that way you can initiate a conversation with them and use it as a learning experience for yourself and others and it gives them a chance to showcase their work.
