Gave a Party City Vecna mask a glow up for our #StrangerThings NYE party. Hardest part was trying to fill that damn head up, but it turned out pretty cool especially considering how derpy the mask looked when I got it. Vecna Claus is haunting the living room this holiday season.

Got the chance to attend the world premiere of #DangerousAnimals on the water in ATX yesterday! @ifcfilms.bsky.social and @shudder.com pulled out all the stops. Killer flick. Best viewed in a tube with scuba divers grabbing your feet at pivotal moments, but second best in a theater on June 6th!

Lost & found religion at the Dogma Resurrection Tour tonight! Great seeing @thatkevinsmith.bsky.social (arguably) best film on the big screen, and Silent Bob himself was full of stories, insight, and an askew view of the world. Cheers to my many big fella brethren in hockey jerseys. #Dogma

Finally caught Strange Darling on Paramount + and DAMN what a flick. Feels like a Miramax film of the 90s, doesn’t pull a single punch. Go in blind but I will say I loved the nonlinear format, Kyle Gallner and Willa Fitzgerald’s performances will keep you guessing.

3rd book of the year was the novelization of Pearl! As a complimentary piece of media it gives readers a lot more insight into the character’s actions. Excited to read MaXXXine next, especially since the film is so structurally different than the previous two entries. #Pearl @a24movies.bsky.social

It’s notable that the only old newspapers I had readily on hand for this picture were copies of the 1999 Dallas Stars Stanley Cup win, so very different Dallas Morning News vibes than ‘63 haha.

I just finished up 11/22/63 and I really became engrossed with it. King’s ability to tap into nostalgia is one of his greatest strengths and despite the time-traveling premise that drives the action, this is a love story at its heart.

I read 22 books this year! Not as many as last year (26) but there were some certifiable tomes strewn throughout. I embraced audiobooks more (mostly to listen to Cary Elwes), tackled more nonfiction, and even revisited some books from my teens.
