my next step is to work the stitches that i skipped over. i have to investigate how these stitches are structured but it’ll be quick work once i work it out and they’ll slot in nicely and help even out the tension
after that it’s onto the parts with actual broken thread!

one thing that i identified was that the purls were all p1b. this is a stitch where you basically “double up” with the row below so i worked all those back in (that’s what’s shown in that video from yesterday) this is a close up from the back where the individual stitches are more visible

the first hurdle i faced with this repair was that i was unable to definitively identify the style of ribbing, which makes it harder to recreate the stitches. the structure is similar to a fishermans rib, but the backside is completely flat, which is not true of any variations i know!
