Sounds like their solution is that as long as your system is commissioned (switched on) after July 1, you'll still be eligible.

And here's equivalent Mitsubishi (Electric) section for Australian market without such requirements. So strange! Are there EPA, building regs or something else that's underpinning manufacturer requirements there?

I think it might from what I've read. I'm no fan of PHEVs, but I think I prefer them to utes with massive 130kWh plus batteries.
What I'd prefer even more is 100% electric one of these, since my dick is just fine.
