It’s a problem with a lot of industry (not just software development) that people don’t know how to manage things, so they try to turn everything into an assembly line that they can slap some easy metrics on.

Then management can just pressure everyone to make the metrics go up.

I’m not a doctor, but I believe they only give these kinds of tests every few months like they’re doing when they already know there’s a problem, and they’re tracking the rate of decline.

I don’t know about you, but my doctor doesn’t make me take cognitive tests at all, let alone every 6 months.

Don’t be sad. The movie is great. It makes me optimistic for the future of the DC movies, and I’m excited for the next season of Peacemaker!

I’d argue that the droids and space travel and everything else are fantastical in nature. There’s no plausible scientific basis for the droids, not even a theoretical one. They may as well be animated by magic.

Star Wars is absolutely not Science Fiction.

It’s knights-and-wizards high fantasy. Being set in space doesn’t change that.

I feel like it’s starting to get tricky because of the question, “Is the stupidity because AI is doing a bad job, or because people are dumb?”

Oh my goodness, there were people wearing pink hats? The public transportation didn’t scare me, but I don’t know how anyone can sleep at night knowing there are pink hats out there.

I feel like that’s tricky, because it’s not their fault. So often it’s the system that’s broken. Still, there may be strategies for navigating the system that can be shared and recommended.

I feel like it can be helpful to change their behavior even when their behavior isn’t the problem.
