Oh my goodness! My uncle was an entomologist with a specialization in pollinators, and worked for the Ontario government back up through the 90s - I never really understood his work, but he gave me a lifelong long appreciation of bugs and the role they play. How cool!

Eww. The Times has always had a fascination with a fictional "positive elitism," where the good and right people get together to decide how best to help the masses, but you'd think they'd learned how wrong that is.

Beyond Atlantis is sincerely one of my favourite episodes of the show, mostly because of her. The sheer ENERGY of "Mother Crabber" alone.

Seriously. My friends and I use to rent clamshells from the small video store near my house, based purely on how crappy the movie sounded, then watch them and riff. Imagine my joy on discovering that there was a whole community of people that did it!

Somewhere along the line, I lost the ability to read fiction. Not tragic, there's a lot of other ways to access it, but there is a notable exception: this series. So looking forward to this.

I wouldn't worry about it. I ended up getting piled on for something that I said on here and did what my people have done since time immemorial (usenet) and just took it on the chin. You aren't responsible for someone making themselves That Guy, or their reaction to it happening.

I don't own a tagine or anything to make coffee with because I don't like coffee and I have an abundance of crockery for cookery already, but, yeah, 8/10 on the rest.

*nod* I've been working to get a couple of young men detoxified from their diet of floor weiners and a HUGE component of it, early on, is making them confront how massively, entirely undateable they've made themselves.

The only thing I can think of is video games and so-called "jiggle physics," which typically treat the butt cheeks as a unit, and the boobs as more individual and more mobile but it felt much more like someone saying something out loud and realizing it should've stayed INside.
