How about another Halloween themed short story? This one is 'inspired' by actual events (to a point). The names have been changed to protect the innocent.

I finally watched Caddo Lake and I'm not disappointed. Interesting story that plays with cause and effect in a thoughtful way.

That's as much as I can say without spoiling it. If you haven't seen the movie and want to, stay clear of the replies.

Verbigeration [ver-BID-jur-RAY-shun]
(n.)
- The habit of frequently repeating favorite words or phrases.

Used in a sentence:
“Those dorks are so socially awkward, were it not for their nerdy verbigeration of Monty Python quotes, they’d never say anything at all.”

It's an honour getting to see my novel displayed in glass at Bad Kerry Studios.

It's my best work, if I may say so. You can get it on B&N, Amazon, and other sellers. (*bewbs not included)

@waywardraven.bsky.social just launched a Kickstarter for a new project. I decided to back because it's alt-history, a favorite genre of mine.

Living in PA, this was redundant.

In the past few days:
• Someone drove at me head on in a parking lot while I was on a test drive
• I narrowly missed hitting someone running a stop sign,
• I watched someone turn the wrong way down a one way road.

It seems like there should word, maybe German, for: Having a dream where as it starts you think you're really waking up. You're glad that the quickly fading images were "only a dream" because reality couldn't be that bizarre. Then you're jolted out of the dream back into our messed up world.

Science question: Could Dark Energy be a product of the expansion of space, not a cause? More expansion, more dark energy, more expansion, etc. Or am I putting the cart before the horse, so to speak?

Asteroid City was not what I expected, but I enjoyed it. It had the same feel as "Barton Fink" or even "The Cook, The Thief, His Wife and her Lover."

While different from the 1966 movie and book, I think the 2018 movie got many of the main ideas right.

Each is a good reflection on the time they were made.
