obviously quibble but it's still pretty close to suicide. Watts had some ideas, for example religious zealots and child soldiers forced into it. But then I heard and encountered people who have replaced large part of their thinking LLMs.

Your brain is made of parts capable of hosting consciousness but when they connect to each other they kinda meld into a new one. Which has interesting implications for brain to brain communications and hive minds. Two brains connected with enough bandwidth would then meld into single personality

Memorable moments include: getting to experience guerilla style hit and run tactical on your army from the bows of rangers, choosing to Vlad Tepes the head of league of assassins for next mechanical benefits, bit of slave trading, getting gigantic armies over flooded rivers and much more.

One of my favorite things about that book is how every ending is unsatisfying, including the ones where you become a noble or actually find your biological father.
