Churches rely on the unpaid labor of women, and they need to keep them in submissive roles. Gay people creating family units and partnerships are threats to traditional marriage. It requires only allowing families that include a woman submitting to a man to keep the machinery of churches running.

The reason churches hate gays so much has little to do with homosexuality and everything to do with misogyny.

Our only bad experience was coming back into the states. The us border patrol guy was a total ahole. Harassed us about even considering going out of the country for education. Gave our daughter a hard time when he asked her what she wanted to study, and she replied ‘math or genetics’.

We went to Canada last week to visit universities. Everyone was lovely, even one guy who seemed to think Trump isn’t so bad (I think he was very naive about the state of things).
