There's a difference between appreciating intense acting and chemistry and justifying horrible action of the characters because of the chemistry of the actors. You can appreciate their acting without justifying the characters' abusive behaviors. #SecretRelationships

Suhyeon also agreed with the contract with Jaemin which he could have dealt with years ago with the access of money that he had. His relationship with Daon is filled with power imbalance due to his status and his possessiveness. His character growth began when he let Daon go. #SecretRelationships

Tragic backstory is not an excuse for his abusive behavior. I think even if Daon sees his POV, he still wouldn't be with Suhyeon because Suhyeon treated him so badly even after returning from abroad.

Suhyeon's action is abusive which is the reason why Daon left him in the end. The acting during the kissing was good but the director clearly showed that Daon was coerced into doing it with the zooming of his hands pushing him away. I don't know why some ignore this fact. #SecretRelationships

The series itself is actually quite good in telling a story about manipulation and how it can ruin relationships. However, I feel the marketing needs to focus less on the ships because I see some fans actually supporting an abusive character because irl the actor is very sweet. #SecretRelationships

The story shows the difficulty of moving on after years of manipulation, the feeling of undeserving of love, overcoming trauma, and grieving the loss of your old self.

The portrayal of toxic love when done well deserved to be appreciated, especially when they don't glorify it.
