I don’t study anything, I don’t have a phd. I have a layman’s interest in most of the ‘ologies’ - not ‘Astr’, I like the ‘onomy’ one for that.

You seem to have misunderstood the nuance present in than last sentence. I made a comparison between the 2, that’s what the ‘maybe’ and the final question mark signified. I was not expressing a preference for either, although personally I view factory farming of animal as a bad thing generally.

Honestly, have I said anything in support of hunting, anything at all?
June 1, 2025 at 9:43 AM
Don’t think I was suggesting that….I support the reintroduction of predators, I think a fully diverse ecosystem is essential. I was just pointing out that the deer won’t necessarily thank you, and that factory farming was generally a bad thing. If we all just ate less meat, I’d be happy.

I know lots of guys, but I’m not sure I’d recognise their dicks……not sure I’d recognise my own, to be honest.
June 1, 2025 at 6:29 AM
Not that I disagree about reintroducing predators, it’s been shown to improve the ecological balance by reducing overgrazing. But it would do nothing to improve the life experience of deer, compared to human hunting. And maybe hunting wild animals for food, is better than factory farming?

They might make a cuddly elephant though. That’d be good, right?

Amazing thread, thank you. Pretty sure I was wearing skinny Levi’s in the early 80’s though. Don’t “think” I got them from the women’s aisle, but you never know.

Just finished this….it was a terrific read about a brilliant, but not perfect scientist. I finished it this morning and it inspired me to take my copy of Gaia off the bookshelf for the first time in a while.
