I prefer 1-shot 80s slashers to the franchises. My Bloody Valentine, The Prowler, Terror Train...& Happy Birthday To Me. Surprisingly strong cast, great kills (the skewer!!!), & a completely bonkers killer reveal. Love it!

Technically my 1st horror movie is Food Of The Gods (HBO) or Amityville Horror (drive-in with grandparents; I woke up during the film). But John Carpenter's The Thing is the 1st horror movie to leave a lasting effect on me. No longer a sci-fi kid, but a horror lover forever!

There are a ton of X-Men storylines. Annuals 7, 10, & 11 definitely make the list. But Batman #400 is as close to perfection as I can think of. It's the entire Knightfall storyline, done in 1 issue, with gorgeous art & NO grim/gritty characters introduced gratuitously. Introduction by Stephen King!
