But then again, in the months before I got my first symptoms, I had a puppy to raise and that was, although very tough, an important and wonderful time in my life. I just don’t want to give up any of it. It’s not fair. 😔 I just want to LIVE. #MEcfs ♿️

I know I add value to my friends’ lives in my own way — I’m doing what I can — but that doesn’t mean this isn’t still frustrating as hell. 🥲 I just want to help my friends tidy and clean and move, and go places with them, and go to their house if they’re sad. #MEcfs ♿️

I now have more (local) friends who could use practical help with things. I would’ve been able to offer them that a couple years ago, but I didn’t know them (as well) back then. I feel so frustrated not being able to do anything for them except text & video call sometimes. #MEcfs ♿️

I also have ADHD but am a big reader. Books with short chapters work very well for me, as well as fast-paced thrillers.

I recently read The Last One by Will Dean, survival thriller. Really enjoyed it! I'd also recommend The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky, classic YA coming of age.

I most likely won't have another year to do a spreadsheet , but I thought I'd share my idea, so anyone else doing a reading spreadsheet could take this idea and have fun with it. #books #BookSky 💙📚 #spreadsheets #GoogleSheets #stats 📊

Maybe I could also have sorted the words into months, to see in which months I came across the most new words. Or see from which genres or countries (where author is based) I learned the most. 💙📚 📊

I also would've liked to sort the words into two categories: 1) words I don't know at all, and 2) words that are somewhat familiar and I might be able to understand it from the context of a sentence, but not be able to tell you the actual meaning. 💙📚 📊

It would've been fun to sort the words alphabetically and see if I ended up with any duplicates (very likely). And to test myself at the end of the year, to see which words I can still remember the meaning of, just by seeing the word. 💙📚 📊

The only thing I wish I would've done differently about adding this column to the spreadsheet, is keeping a separate spreadsheet page where I write in the actual words. I usually list them in my notes app and delete them after I find out my number, but I wish I'd kept the words. 💙📚

I just added my two recently read UK #thrillers to the spreadsheet and I noticed I had marked many of the same words in both books, even though I read them back-to-back. Sometimes it takes a while for a word to finally get stuck in my brain. 💙📚

(I've read 91 books in total so far, but a bunch of those are audiobooks, for which I don't track the words because it's too much effort. I could make a formula and tell you the actual number of books I've learned words from but I'm tired and a bit lazy today.)

I think I would’ve been less traumatized reading King at a young age, than the book I borrowed from my mom’s bookshelf (without her knowing) at like, age 11? It included a very detailed sex scene set in a bathroom stall that has mentally scarred me for the rest of my life.

That sounds so stressful! I remember when my dog (who has since been rehomed bc of my health) had a lot of vet appointments due to atypical epilepsy. Such a stressful time, we had a lot of sleepless nights. Took a huge toll on my body. I wish you both a speedy recovery ❤️‍🩹

Not knowing what causes my rib pain doesn’t bother me as much anymore, my GP said he doesn’t know and it’s probably connected to the ME, but he did get me good painkillers. Might have to increase the dosage soon though.
