Fulfilling childhood dream. Each day I come home with my pockets filled with apples picked (stolen) from a nearby tree. The glee! The owner lets them drop and Roy, so there you have it, win-win.

Yesterday I received the death notice of an old friend. The mail always comes too late for an emigrant. She was already buried May 28. Around the time of her passing, I thought of her. I could not reach her. Did she reach me? In my thoughts, yes. May her memory be for a blessing.

#Yahrzeit candle for my dad Jaap van Praag (1898-1969) on lazy susan with his sculpture of bare chested man defending wife and children, one of a #Post-WWII series. He let go of the opportunity to work with #Zadkine in #Paris because my mom was pregnant with me, the much wanted #Post-Shoah baby.
