Right!? Oooh, I need to figure out how to incorporate that vision into a sort of goth hedgehog motif for the resulting fabric.

I'll definitely give them a taste next time I run into them, off trail...having a big dog has made me realize it's never a good idea to pick close to the trail. ☺️

As much as I miss summer, this rainfall has been an amazing change of pace! So much guttation going on!

That genus makes sense with them obviously growing directly from the wood, compared to the last specimens surrounded by, and almost seeming to be growing on top of moss, but that's just the status quo, in the Hoh Rainforest. I should have collected one of these to try a spore/🔬 ID...next time.

Right!? I hadn't seen one that beautiful in quite awhile.

Final #Guttation is an odd one. Similar to a species I observed in the Hoh Rain Forest a few weeks ago. The closest image has guttation dripping from the fungal structure.

Initially though slime mold, but I'm pretty confident it's fungus maybe a Lichen. 🤷

Speaking of #Guttation

What I assume are some bejeweled Red Belted Conk, Fomitopsis pinicola.

Found today in #TwanohStatePark Washington State. #FungiFriends #Nature
