I waited two years to remove my lawn after I bought my house. I didn’t meet any neighbors until I planted my garden. Gardens support biodiversity but they also build community. I’ve shared plants with neighbors I never would’ve met otherwise and met so many people who just like how it looks.

Tonight was Wu-Rons going up against Mugen. By just a hair Wu-Rons takes it! The noodle portions here are generous and the broth is piping hot. See the alt text on the photos for more details. #ramenquest #portland #wurons #food
A silver plate of karaage, Japanese fried chicken with spicy mayo. Wu-Rons’ is excellent. They use dark meat so it is super juicy. A bowl of tonkotsu ramen in the Nagahama style, featuring a very thin noodle. Wu-Rons sears their chashu, an extra step that makes it my favorite in town. This is Greg’s favorite noodle in town. Eggs are perfectly jammy and their tonkotsu broth has a better flavor than Mugen’s. An enormous bowl of Sapporo miso ramen, featuring thicker noodles and a lightly spiced, very flavorful broth. This one features both ground pork and chashu. I don’t ski but I feel like this would be a perfect post-run meal. Rich, warming, and decadent. A lollipop tree containing dumdum pops and a sign on the top that says “Thanks you.”

We are currently in the semi finals of a bracket we concocted: Mugen vs Wu-Rons. Mugen has my perfect noodle: thicker, bouncy, a little toothy. The curry ramen is perfect and the tori paitan broth is great, though not as well seasoned as we like. Their gyoza filling is 🔥 #mugen #portland #ramenquest
An absolutely perfect bowl of lightly spicy curry ramen, featuring green onions, mushrooms, and corn. A white bowl featuring pork tori paitan broth and a spiral slice of chashu pork, plus corn. A plate of takoyaki, topped with bonito and mayo. Five deep fried gyoza on a white plate, with a ramekin of sauce and chopsticks.
