2 djembes in the workshop for new heads this week. This is one. I forgot to get pics of them before removing the old head, as usual. Both should be dry and ready for lacing tomorrow.

A micrometer attached to a piece that pivots on the frame of my sliding table. I attach the fence, swing up the micrometer and tighten, adjust to the desired number, pull the fence back and tighten in place.

In the workshop I have an apparatus called The Puller. This is how I pull tension on the drums we make and repair. The drum is held in place on a rotating base, while rope clamps attached to cables, pulleys, and pedals make the tensioning possible.
