Thankfully, there's a Glyph to tone it down a LOT.
I love the spec to death, but the Shadowform's baseline particle effect borders on sensory overload and I don't like the fact it hides transmog pretty much entirely.
I think you can get said Glyph from the little Infinite Babby in Lemix.

One thing I really didn't like about the remaster of FFVIII was how they donked up Ultimecia's design, ESPECIALLY in regards to her face.
Her facial structure is ENTIRELY unrecognizable and the "elf ears" given to her Dissidia design make no sense within VIII's context.

Castora is probably one of the most atmospheric and lovingly-crafted regions in all of GW2.
I love both of these maps they've introduced and I'm really hoping they keep up the map quality with the updates since they have more time to polish them with the new update schedule.
