I enjoy reading (sci-fy, horror, thriller, fantasy, suspense) and playing videogames (single player, story rich, action, RPG, cozy, FPS, third person).

In my opinion...
I would have loved to see Olivier Deriviere in here for the South of Midnight OST from @compulsiongames.bsky.social It was just an amazing score full of original an emotional music. Benjy alone was a fantastic piece. #videogames #gamingsky

During the weekend I played and beat Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine master crafted edition. I read that this edition had a lot of graphical problems, but it ran without any issue on my end. Super serviceable corridor 3rd person shooter. A fun experience for what it is. #videogames #gamingsky

Planet of Lana is a fairly short but quite fulfilling experience. It is a 4-and-a-half-hour journey. Puzzles are simple but engaging and the story is really beautiful. It reminded me a lot of GRIS with the presentation. Minimalistic but powerful art direction and voice acting. #videogames #gamingsky

This year was a great one for horror, a lot of really good books. Still, When the Wolf Comes Home is a superb read and deserve the award. I hope my vote helps.

I already did my duty.

I played and finished Redfall. It was a very serviceable open-world FPS. I know it had a bad reputation with its troubled development and its launch state, but I have played worse. The hero skills were fun to play with, and I would play it again to try another hero. #videogames #gamingsky.

The Place Where They Buried Your Heart by @christinahenry.bsky.social It’s a really scary book. Creepy in all the right ways. I could not put it down. I wanted to know more, to feel more. Haunted house stories have been done before, but never like this. An instant recommendation if you enjoy horror.

Good Boy is an entertaining horror movie. It’s more about the unsettling and creepy atmosphere than full on monsters and gore. The fact that the movie was shot mostly from the eye level of Indy gives every shot an uncanny feeling distorting our POV. The dog lead was simply amazing. #filmsky #movies

I finished Bounty Star. It has light farming simulator elements mixed with mech combat. I had a fun time playing it, but I had a bug soft-locking my progress, I had to do some troubleshooting to be able to progress. I would still recommend it. The soundtrack was really good. #videogames #gamingsky

Keeper is a fantastic game. It has a wonderfully crafted world; the sound design is exquisite. It has light gameplay elements, and the puzzles are quite simple, but none of that detracts from the experience. It can be finished in about 5 hours, but time well spent. A must play. #gamingsky #videogame

All of this to say that I read Slayers of Old by @jimchines.com. Very good book. Captivating and full of colorful characters. Even though it was catalogued as a cozy read, the story was fast paced. The supernatural elements were well defined. And the best part is that it was a standalone novel.

Evil West is such a fine game. A linear old-school game, if it weren’t for the great graphics, it may as well be from the xbox 360 era. It is challenging enough that it is positively entertaining. The story is simple and easy to follow. Kill vampires and move to the next area. #videogames #gamingsky

High on Life. A short and somewhat funny FPS game. I’ve never seen Rick and Morty, as one of its co-creators was heavily involved in High on Life, so I didn’t have a point of reference regarding its humor. I was a little bit crude. The shooting was ok, even enjoyable at times. #gamingsky #videogames

The Extra by @annieneugebauer.bsky.social is a wild ride. A novella, there is not a lot of time to process what is going on and leaves much to the reader's imagination. A backpacking trip of 10 suddenly became one of 11 but everyone remembers everyone. Who or What is the extra? #booksky #books

Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn is supposed to be a Souls-like type game, but it was more a Souls-lite. It had more in common with God of War 2018 that any Souls game. Combat was ok in normal difficulty, but the bosses were extremely difficult, spamming attacks left and right. #gamingsky #videogames

I’ve been playing a lot of female-led games lately. Dungeon of Hinterberg is a mix of action/puzzle/cozy games. Combat is simple hack & slash. Puzzles are easy but entertaining. The cozy part is friendship management and is engaging enough to make you want to put the time. #gamingsky #videogames

Eternal Strands is a fun game. My only gripe is that it was too easy. I didn’t feel that upgrading my equipment was impactful at all. Especially the armor, the potion drops were plentiful so even when the enemies were dealing more damage I never felt the need for more defense. #gamingsky #videogames

"The Witch Who Stormed the Palace" is the sequel to "The Girl Who Kept the Castle" by Ryan Graudin. I haven't read a lot of fantasy lately due to most books being part of series, but I enjoyed the first one so I really wanted to continue with Faye story. Fantastic read overall. #booksky #books

South of Midnight is a wonderful game. I don't usually play new games, but this caught my attention. It has everything I want from a videogame and some more. The music is simply incredible and even if it isn't innovative with its gameplay the story more than compensate for it. #videogames #gamingsky

I played Atlas Fallen: Reign on Sand on Game Pass. Fun combat and exploration, marred by the poor camera control. I know what Deck13 was trying to do with the lock on system, similar to what they did in The Surge, but it doesn’t work with giant or flying enemies. #gamingsky #videogames

@almakatsu.bsky.social is an amazing writer. FIEND, her latest book, although short, it packs a punch. A lot happening in those pages. If you liked the Succession, but with a horror/demonic twist, this is definitely for you. The family drama is just *chef kiss* and the horror parts were great!

Pyre is a great game. The story and characters were really engaging. Sir Gilman was my favorite. The matches were difficult enough to put my teams to the tests. Changing tactics and choosing which character works best.
@supergiantgames.bsky.social was cooking with this one. #videogames #gamingsky

Finished the “We'll Prescribe You a Cat” book 1 and 2 from Syou Ishida. Sometimes you just need a chill fiction book about cats to get you out of a slump and these books were exactly what I needed. Magical realism as its finest in this troubled world. I would recommend them both. #booksky #books

Las week I finished Dragon Age II. I remember playing it on my xbox 360 when it came out in 2011. It hasn’t dated as much as I would have thought. It didn’t have quite the previous game scope, but it was fun nonetheless. I hadn’t played the DLC’s so that was an added bonu #videogames #gamingsky
