This reminds me of my big recent rant to family about thermostats. I've found that "use AC to dehumidify" greatly reduces fussing with the set point and even lets me keep the temperature set higher.

But nobody seems to sell a non-wifi thermostat with that one feature.

I think most GPS software tries to bias towards "major highways" as much as possible, which may also be part of that particular failure mode.
