The Trans Association echoes this statement from the Durham UCU. Trans students and staff of Durham University deserve much, much better than this.

Met ALEX Sobel MP today as part of @transsolidarity.bsky.social’s mass lobby! Told him trans people won’t comply with segregation in public spaces or healthcare; we’ll ignore laws and homebrew HRT! He was sympathetic and agreed EHRC + SCOTUK have made a big mess that’ll be hard to fix

Our union has had many difficult conversations, often painful disagreements. But this one? This's one's simply: you don't debate the existence or value of people. Obviously we support trans rights and stand with trans people.

We're proud to be joining with the Durham UCU for this rally, Wednesday 7th May from 12-1pm at The Map, by the crossroads at the corner of the Bill Bryson Library. Please come along if you can make it!! 🏳️‍⚧️💖

Next Wed (7th), our UCU branch will be holding a rally in defense of trans, intersex and non-binary people's rights, as part of a national day of action among UK trades unions. 12-1pm at The Map.

We will be having our AGM on Wednesday 19th March 2025, at 3pm in Upper Kingsgate in the SU.
