He 100% took a screenshot and sent it to some buddies to show how suave and romantic he is. 🤢

Yeah, it appears that if something that concerns children needs to be solved, then it is down t schools to solve it.

I fear that you are correct. It feels like some of the old edutainment ideas and methods are creeping back in as we hear more about "students being bored". I'll be gone by then.

I think it is easy, and lazy, to say that the curriculum is at fault and if only teachers were more exciting, etc.
Because it let's people blame schools rather than address a complex problem.
I have no idea of practical solutions, but it is making teaching harder and less enjoyable for me.

100%. Their phones have made them believe that any time they are doing something they don't find fun, or just something that they don't want to do at that time, they can just decide to stop what they're doing and move on to something else. This also explains some of the awful behaviour I see.

2 degrees is about the right temperature to get 'fat rain'.

The volume and the abuse from parents.
The volume makes its unmanageable, and the abuse makes it miserable. Some of the abuse I've seen parents give SENCOs is disgusting.

Doing 175% of the speed limit and moaning about getting a fine is some impressive level of entitlement.

@aaron.bsky.team seriously, we are all waiting for this reply.

I'm one of that 40%. I'm not even supposed to open my windows because they're so old, but I'm an absolute renegade and open them anyway.

Asking myself, out loud, "who even taught you this?" adds at least 50% to my marking time.

The look of complete confusion that initially crosses their face when you do it as well is top tier. "Who? Me?"

It is insane to me that you call this a "Katie Porter moment" and then proceed to post the full interview which shows you asking multiple questions about something she informed you she isn't legally allowed to comment on. Kudos for being transparent I guess.

The greatest thing about half term is that I won't hear this for a week.

Ooh, a retro homophobic slur. It is a shame you are missing out on the musings of such a classy individual.

The terrifying thing is that, as a Secondary teacher, the deterioration isn't stopping and worse is coming through.
And the sad thing is that it doesn't surprise me too much

Luckily I know a few American sports teams, which helped massively.

This surely has to be the way Reeves is going.

It is very rife. I'd say half of the interviews I've attended in my career were ones where there was a "shoe-in". Complete waste of time and so frustrating. One in particular was annoying as I had two interviews on the same day and had to choose - I turned up and it was a done deal. I was fuming.

I thought I'd definitely beat your challenge. I recognise one by sight (Alfie Boe) and knowing that one of them is Anthony Costa and I can now recognise him.

I totally agree, I'm the same. I've seen plenty of great teachers leave my previous school because of significant behaviour problems AND no ability/interest from leadership to address it effectively. I hope you won't be leaving teaching and instead going to another school.

Yeah, the RAHs were very snobby. Luckily I ended up rooming and house sharing with newcastle lads so my experience was pretty decent.

I don't know, I did once hear another working class voice when I was at Grey College, but that might have been one of the firemen who responded to our false alarm.

I really enjoyed this. You're question yesterday got me thinking about this, and this has really helped get my head around it again.
