Lorenzo was not sovereign, therefore he was not free. He was ruled by his hatred/contempt of others. He believed that were he alone, he would be free.
We cannot be free alone in the world. We become captured by, and prisoners of, ourselves. We cannot truly know ourselves without knowing others.

Levi Jones, our new heeler rescue. Abused for three years. No more!

Lorenzo was weighted down by all of the baggage he chose to own and drag along wherever he went. What he was looking for never existed because his focus was always outward. The freedom from his torment was always to be found inside of him. He managed to always find that which he expected.

You can bring a huge amount of theory to bear, but life is full of surprises. There are people however, arrogant people, who think they have it all figured out.

Recently I gazed upon this scene, the drawing of the close of the day. The power of it hit me; and I realized that loud men are small in the face of Creation.

It is upon us.
It is within us.
It is about us.
You.
Me.
We.
We forgot our softness
Mistaking:
Ego for soul
Rough talk for strength
Individualism for courage
Money for success
Arrogance for enthusiasm
Tenderness for weakness.
Mischief and malevolence
are stubborn.
Opportunity is benign
but easy.

In the clubhouse. “Here’s to freedom!”

No government can claim, and then maintain, legitimacy by force. History is proof.
Though, authoritarians will try…every time.

What compels a person to relinquish their autonomy, their agency, their critical thinking, their independent judgment, their humanity, their future to a man…any man.

I needed a bit of chipmunk today. He’s never heard of Donald J. Trump.
Carry on you mighty chipmunk!

Myths are the lattice work
which create the myriad
of human edifices.
Our agreements are the structural glue.
Hard work it is
to care about one another.
The glue is fragile.
We sometimes agree to share its tending.
But.
Madmen are about
the abyss beckons.
These men are made as surely as a soufflé

The crux is now
unfree
the fall awaits.
The gluttonous
circle
and prepare their plates.
Who will be served
on
his dull concrete expanse
and
in his golden ballroom, dance.
September 8, 2025 at 6:57 AM
Contempt cascades
and
creates permission to cage
fellow humans behind the chain link gates.
“Illegals!” the jailers rage.
They wear their
smug, self-righteousness
but
with every cruel act
their own freedom grows less
and less.

Pride often goes before the fall
and
just as spring buries winter’s pall
time will arbitrate it all.
History will one day prove the truth
and long-gone bodies, raised
will speak in dusty agony,
“Oh why! Oh why, did this happen to me!”

Man, I so loved this sport! And, I loved scrapping behind the plate! 1966 Thomas Jefferson HS Denver Public Schools Sophomore League Champions 15-0! 🤎💛

Levi is finally home! Doing his best polar bear impression.

When we learn to love people where they are, not where we want them to be, the world will be a better place.

Levi has joined our family. His three years of hard times and shelter life will now end. We are blessed. 🐾💛

What if none of it is a contingency. What if it is simply a continuance—with love on one end and hate on the other. Where shall we choose to live?

Choices
by Stephen Hinman

“He’s not the right one…”
Right?
Wrong?
“Take him anyway!”
He don’t belong.
Human?
Waste?
Pick and choose.
Who to love.
Who to abuse.
