I'd love to support more but it all adds up. And worse, as more places make content hidden behind paywalls, I start to visit them less and less. It's a bit of a vicious circle...

The issue with per creator/outlet pricing is that it's too much, too many for a single person to subscribe to. I subscribe to around five outlets, not including random one-off "donations" to various places. That's already more than I used to pay for a magazine (I pretty much only bought EDGE).

The same situation with video media. Cable was something like €30-50 pcm. Then Netflix did away with all the cruft you never watched (or at least paying for it!) and you got a decent selection for around €10. Now, a lot of things got separated. So we're back up to €30 - 40 if you want everything.

But online, people don't really go on homepages and flick through an assortment of articles and stories. They discover the articles via Google or Reddit or social media. They come in for that article about the game they like, and then leave. And what's more, they don't pay for it, either

It's true! Sony revolutionised our way of stationing with play, not playing with stations... So sad to see this inaccuracy...

*turns out Assassin's Creed apocalypse was real... just not the mythical protectors of the earth. So, we're doomed!*

I've mostly been focusing on helping people build and troubleshoot PCs over on Reddit. Really scaled back my social media scrolling. Actually, there's not much negativity on mine but less interesting conversations going on...

Yeah but there are highlights like when you have to save the album by dressing up as Paul after he has that nasty car accident, before travelling to the afterlife to bring him back for their final performance!

Is Duolingo branching out into the wild world of Chess programmes, now?

Oh wow. Is this alternate included in the box? Or did you have to purchase separately?

I guess this is for certain genres of game?

However, I doubt that it's real (as in it was a real AI video). The before and after switches are nonsensical. You can't deepfake his real background when he doesn't make videos with this exact background. (You'll note on the StarTalk channel that elements change in the BG from video to video).

If it's real, that's actually the best I've ever seen...

Are there any good physical magazines left? One of the reasons i stopped reading Edge was it was always too behind. I think at this stage in my life, i want something like a gaming version of Men's Health or FHM from the 90s.

Maybe you need to think outside the box - ban ps5 access to your son! 🤔🫠

It's like if Apple released the Vision Pro as the central hardware in their stack... that would not be a good business decision.

What developer is looking at the ROG Xbox Ally X and thinking to themselves, "Let's target this platform's performance!" No, it's just a PC and whatever performance you get on it is what you get. It's the WinGPD situation. It's a niche, not a mainstream product.
