🌎Dunrobin, Ontario, Canada
I only move the leaves off the driveway that'd get disturbed by cars anyway.... all the birds get their food from under the leaves, plus the bumblebees survive under there🥰

I keep thinking that Ottawa is surely falling behind, and then I look at the standings😅🤔

It's really only Colorado that's pulling away from everyone in the west

👀 I had to make sure the writer approved of the series before I started it tonight

The first 3 episodes are available on HBO so far, so I'm a little behind!

My early winter ❄️🌲🙂

**Every year, you have to relearn how to not overexpose the snow on sunny days😂

My Dad asked me to tell him specifically what I wanted for Christmas...

My choice 🧐😅 #BillsMafia

My woodland looks so different once the nearly leafless canopy finally opens up for winter...

The coolest part of this and the coming season is this is when the owls tend to visit and/or stay here

Seasons at the Beech 🌳👀
(Fagus grandifolia)

*7 months ago, I removed the competition around it horizontally, but I'm not sure I opened the top canopy up enough for a 2ft/year growth rate. Not sure it matters🤷‍♂️

I cut logs all day with a chainsaw

A buddy and I are trying to figure out how to winterise the campfire place called 'Woodhenge'😅

7 foot walls on all sides is the basic plan

My Bigtooth aspen nearly glows near sunset🌳🍁🍂

It grew in sand and full south facing sun for nearly 20 years now. It got giant but kept all its original lower branches intact

Because of my glacial sand based soil here, I get clonal colonies of Prunus pensylvanica! Another one of the native small cherries... tastes a lot like sour candy🤷‍♂️🍒🙂

Northern Red Oak (Quercus rubra) has finally joined the autumn colour party 🍂🍁👀

If the US had to fill their hockey teams with american players, they could maybe fill 3 or 4 team rosters...

What was for the longest time was just 1 beaver on my pond, appears to now be 3 beavers😂

It's hard to keep track of them because everything happens at night in their world

1 of them is smaller, but not first year small... more like 2 years old, semi independent

Greens remain on the water by my house! They'll leave at the first hint of cold, but it's floating around 14°c day & night at the moment, food comes easy, and the water is easily a bit warmer than the air—walking in it easily to snap this angle

The Juncos are back! Hundreds of them in the few hundred feet of expired native summer wildflower between the house and lake

I don't really know how far they go, but they leave north during my summer and return for autumn & winter

Raining 14°c

There's a little window of time at the beginning of autumn when it becomes really easy to spot the future sugar maple overlords amongst the army of Red Maple, who dominate the forested property

Much like the oaks, Sugar Maples seem to be just fine with ANY evening above freezing
