Whenever I see a thread like this, as a podcaster, it's reassuring to know that people look for different -- often contradictory! -- things in a podcast. Modifying your style to meet a theoretical Listener's preferred vibe is a fool's errand.

Except for audio quality. It has to sound good.

Third - my fave! - their conflict came out of competing world views, not b/c they were bored or malicious.

It was an inevitable clash arising on how their PCs see the world and how they think they should act in moments of deep civic crisis.
