Ain't it always the case?

My son, literally earlier today

I'm so tired of stupid people blaming the wrong people.
Saw someone yelling at Jeffries that Dems should put a resolution on the floor to force the swearing in of Adralita Grijalva.

Rather than delete the post or engage any further, she blocked me when I replied thus: 🤷🏻‍♀️

My son, who's into meade brought this home last night.
I'm not into made.
But, uh . . . yum! Exception found.

*sigh*

I'm going to have to wait to go to the bathroom.

The view from the front door of my store earlier tonight.

My latest project - for my mom, who adores elephants.
I told her, "When people ask if they're made of ivory, you can tsk and tell them, '*Rainforest* ivory - elephant ivory would be ironic and cruel'."

I came across this today in one of my documentaries (don't ask). These are the words of a man who lived more than 4000 years ago. He was a scribe, a tomb artist, and an architect. And I am utterly taken by this, that he had inscribed in his own tomb:

Yes, I know there are important things happening in the news right now, but today is my bestie's birthday and I made her a pair of earrings from tagua nut. And they look great on her!

Oh well?

💜 Thank you!
For those curious, I am a portraitist - of pets and people (I do a bunch of other stuff, too)

High on my list of "Things I'd Really Really Rather Not Be Doing".
But, like any self-respecting lesbian, yes, I can cook dinner for the kids, repair bikes, care for multiple pets, *and* replace a toilet.

I got myself some "rainforest ivory" (tagua nut) to make myself some new gauges - purpleheart wood inlaid with ivory - and decided to try making earrings for a coworker's birthday (she loves cats). I'm pleased with how both turned out - and she loves her new earrings.

New kicks as an incentive/reward for getting back to the gym 😏.

We're going to "boost domestic production of tomatoes". While rounding up and imprisoning the people who cultivate and harvest them. Totally rational.

So very important to keep in mind.

Have to be at work today -- so I made something for the occasion.

How ever you celebrate Juneteenth, may it bring you happiness - and justice.

What. The. F*ck. Is. Even. Happening. Right. Now.
Tucker being a better journalist than actual journalists - coming with actual facts to hold a GOP senator accountable?
We're truly in bizarro world.

And this is why we side-eye these people.
So confident that they've correctly identified the problem as generational rather than ideological.

Get back to me when you've been fighting for 45 years.

The No Kings turnout was the largest crowd I've ever seen here; easily as big as any Pride march (ours is the first in the country so it's a HUGE celebration here). All the traffic downtown honking in support.
Everyone peaceful, congenial, but saddened by the MN shootings - and very, very angry.

Bookends - these are so good.

This is the most spectacularly thunderous and scary thunderstorm I can remember in many years. Carmen is not taking it well at all. So I'm sitting with her on the stairs - basically as far as she can get from any windows or outside walls.

Since we're *still* having to rehash this issue to certain *cough cough* unrepentant non-voters, I made this. You know... so it's simple for them.
