Get some 3-in-1 oil and lube the gas spring while you're at it so it doesn't start sinking on you. The seals can wear out if you don't.

The only board game I came up with in my setting was Admoki. Admoki is played with seven colored stones on each side of the table - one side cool colors, the other warm. The seven stones each have a special movement pattern - or, they can move forward one space.

Ettercaps are not like the humanoid creatures in D&D. They're way more spidery. They have hooked claws they can sorta use to grab stuff, but it's more like having a really big finger on the end of a bony limb.
If I had to compare them to something, they're similar to the Akrid from Lost Planet.
