Fun fact, they have a legal obligation to take care of the building and take any steps possible to prevent something like this happening and they did not. If a lawyer can prove neglect took place then you have a very strong case on your hands.

Is there a citizens advice hotline or similar that helps people having issues with this kinda thing?

Also call your landlord and let them know, as long as they are aware its out of your control too.

You should honestly sue the company at the end of the day, and this negligence is just-
